Cost: Members – $200; Non-members –$230
Students will complete an embroidered book in 2 days, using a spine sewing frame (to be provided). This is an opportunity to learn how to construct and embroider a hard backed book with an open embroidered and/or beaded spine. Isobel's specialty is mixed media and in this workshop you will learn a variety of techniques to decorate your book and apply to your textile design. Isobel is very flexible and allows students to work at their own pace and go in the direction that they want. As an example, some people will make the book block and covers but then assemble them at home, thus leaving time for more mixed media techniques or learning how to construct a simple book with a Japanese style binding.
A deposit of $100.00 will reserve your place in the workshop and places will be allocated on a first come basis. A requirements list will be provided on payment of your deposit. Final payment is due 15 January 2011 and terms are available - please discuss with the Treasurer to arrange.
Basic Surface Stitches
These are conducted on 1st Monday of each month at 12.30pm or 6.30pm (minimum of three students). Cost: $5.00 includes kit.
UFO Days
Every 5th Sunday of the month the Guild will hold a UFO day where anyone is welcome to come along between 10 am and 4 pm and work towards completing one of their unfinished objects (UFOs).
The UFO days for 2010 are:
- 30 January
- 29 May
- 29 August
- 31 October
Enrolments
- All classes will be held at Gorman House unless otherwise specified.
- Enrolments will close on the date advertised.
- To enrol, please download and print the Classes Application form or pick up a form from the Guild office. If you are unable to obtain a form in this manner, please contact the Guild Office on 6262 8035 (only manned during Monday meetings; otherwise leave a message) to give your details and a form will be mailed out. The completed form can be left at the Guild Office or mailed (Guild address).
- No enrolment will be accepted without payment. Cash/cheque/credit card details can be used if the form is handed in to the Guild Office. Do not send cash in the post.

- The maximum number of students is usually 8. The minimum is always 4. Under that number the class is not viable.
- No cost concessions can be made for missed classes in a course.
- Refunds will be made if a class is fully booked or if insufficient enrolments are received and the class is cancelled.
