Meetings & Groups

All are welcome to come along to the Embroiderers' Hall, Gorman House Arts Centre
Corner of Currong and Batman Strees, Braddon. Both the weekly Monday meetings and the monthly meetings of the special interest groups are free for Guild members.

In accordance with its Constitution, the Guild is managed by a committee elected annually by members. For the current list of Guild Committee members see Contact us.

Monday Meetings

Monday morning from 10.00am to noon
Monday evening from 6.00pm to 9.30pm

Members bring along their current work and stitch, exchange ideas, chat and share a cuppa and, perhaps, borrow a book from the Guild's library.

Special Interest Groups which meet monthly

There are many special interest groups which meet and welcome new participants. These groups all meet at the Guild rooms in Braddon.

Beading display Beading and Braiding Group
1st Thursday
11am-3pm

For those who enjoy beading and want to exchange ideas. Sometimes a short session is devoted to exploring a new technique.

Creative Group challenge display Creative Group
1st Saturday
10am-3pm
Design your own work, slash, burn, paint or otherwise manipulate fabric.
Hardanger work Hardanger Group
2nd Saturday 1.30pm-4pm
Members of the Hardanger group enjoy stitching this beautiful Norwegian counted thread embroidery.
machine embroidery work Machine Embroidery Group
2nd Sunday
10am-3.30pm
For those who enjoy being creative with their sewing machines. Different techniques are explored. Members need to bring their own machines along.
Card display Paper Arts Group
1st Thursday
11am-3pm
For members who want to discover more about paper craft, mixed media and card-making.
  Stay & Stitch Group
1st Monday 12.30pm-2pm
After the morning meeting, members of this group bring lunch and stay on to stitch their own work or occasionally work on special projects.
WOWies work WOWies
(Workshop on the Web)
3rd Wed 11.00 am-2.30pm
For members who participate in the Workshop on the Web computer program and wish to share their ideas. Those in this group must purchase this program. Visit Workshop on the Web for more information.
